If you are interested in visiting Southern Nagano region - i.e. Iida city, there are not so many options to reach the city by public transportation.


By train - from Tokyo

Take JR Chuo line limited express train AZUSA from Shinjuku station in Tokyo bound for Matsumoto which stops at Okaya station. Then, transfer to JR Iida line local train bound for Iida. Journey takes approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes.


By train from Kyoto

Take Tokaido Shinkansen KODAMA train bound for Tokyo to Toyohashi station. Then, transfer to JR Iida line limited express train INAJI for Iida. Journey takes approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes.


By bus - from Tokyo

There are daily multiple buses from Shinjuku expressway bus terminal to Iida station.

Journey takes approximately 4 hours and 10 minutes.


By bus - from Kyoto

Take Tokaido Shinkansen train to Nagoya station. Walk to Meitetsu bus terminal which is adjacent to Nagoya station and take daily multiple buses to Iida. Journey takes approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes.

***Please note that it is little bit tricky to reach the bus terminal. Please follow the sign all the time.***

From Kyoto - we can arrange a private transfer from Nagoya station. Total duration from Kyoto station to your accommodation in Iida will be 2 hours.
